Chalet Village is very excited to announce the commencement of our first Facebook Photo Contest! Use your cherished photographic memories as tickets to a fantastic getaway!

Here’s the scoop:

Become a fan of Chalet Village on Facebook and enter our contest to win a FREE 2-night stay at one of our chalets. Our winner will have the choice of a one to three bedroom cabin which sleeps six to eight people. All you need to do is upload a photo of you, friends or family on vacation in the Great Smoky Mountains. The winner will be determined by the photo with the most votes on September 21st, 2012. After sharing your photo, get the help of friends and family by having them vote daily!

So, fans, get your cameras ready or search through pictures of memorable vacations from your past. Showcase the awesome pictures you’ve captured while in the majestic Great Smoky Mountains for a chance to do it all over again – free of charge! The Smoky Mountains Songwriters Festival (SMSWF)
August 23rd, 2012 – August 25th, 2012

Starting today, come experience this very special event aimed to celebrate the city of Gatlinburg’s “Appalachian Musical Roots”. The festival is held the last two weeks of August every year supported by the city of Gatlinburg. Most of the venues where the public is invited to enjoy the performances are conveniently free of charge. The impressive lineup you’ll expect to see includes writers who have inspired renowned music for artists such as Brooks and Dunn, Garth Brooks, Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney, Diamond Rio and more.

Coinciding with the festival, on Friday and Saturday, August 24th and 25th four songwriter workshops will be held and taught by Marty Dodson and Clay Mills.

Gatlinburg Fine Arts Festival
August 31st, 2012 – September 2nd, 2012

This festival will be taking place amongst the beautiful backdrop available on the Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts campus. Expect to see amazing pieces from artists at the top of their chosen field. Each artist earned their showcase as they were chosen by a jury within 16 categories of artistic talent. Music, fine art and a scenic venue make up this coveted area event. Perfect for the whole family; it’s something you won’t want to miss!
